MISSION
STATEMENT:
The
BGPRTC is very proud to promote a genetically clean Parson Russell who retains
correct breed type
and is outstanding in the field and performance events.
For this reason we fully endorse and sponsor the Parson/Jack & Russell Terrier
RoHM Register of Health and Merit as a valuable tool designed to assist in protecting
and preserving the genetic well being of the breed.
Concerned
breeders should utilize the Register to ensure the continued use of genetically
unaffected animals within their respective breeding programs. RoHM will provide
an effective identification and tracking system regarding existing and potential
genetic problems within the breed as they occur. RoHM will be able to provide
valuable information to qualified research studies addressing genetic problems
specific to the breed.
The
Register has been in operation for several years, and its refurbished website
will soon move to a new domain. RoHM will have a fully-operational, interactive
web site where you will be able to search for pedigrees and verify health clearances
and performance awards on listed dogs. In addition, RoHM is able to provide members
with certified, three-generation pedigrees for Parson and Jack Russell Terriers.
BGPRTC
is affiliated with and actively promotes the Working Terrier Clubs of America.
The United Kennel Club's licensed breed club, Earthworkers Unlimited Inc (EWU)
is the sister club to BGPRTC. Both clubs are charged with the management, education
and promotion of Natural Hunting programs for all Earthworking Terriers, Doxies
and Lurchers. BGPRTC and EWU recognize and support the efforts and programs of
the
American Working Terrier Association (AWTA).
BGPRTC
is very proud to have estabolished the Jack Russell Donor Advised Fund under the
umbrella of the Canine Health Foundation. This fund is specifically designed to
benefit Jack Russell Genetic Research. Funds generated will be matched by the
Canine Health Foundation for designated research projects directed by the BGPRTC.
